The Ministry of Transport has launched investigations into the alleged misuse of the GHC40 million allocated for the rehabilitation of the Accra–Nsawam railway line in 2024.

Transport Minister Joseph Bukari Nikpe revealed that a committee has been set up to probe the expenditure and determine the circumstances surrounding the use of the funds.

Meanwhile, the Minister assured Ghanaians that 100 newly procured buses will soon be deployed to help ease transportation challenges across the country, particularly during peak hours.

According to him, the delay in rolling out the buses is due to ongoing driver training, vehicle registration, and servicing to ensure the fleet is ready for operation.
